About project: CoreGRID

CETIC is a partner of European Network of Excellence CoreGRID. The network’s prime objective is to harness the scientific and technological excellence in the area of Grid and Peer-to-Peer technologies. This objective is facilitated by a specific mobility programme that aims at fostering professional exchanges among the network researchers and consequently enhancing their effectiveness. There are two types of mobility programmes offered by the CoreGRID – Fellowship Programme (FP) and Research Exchange Programme (REP).

CETIC has already hosted research and industrial fellows of FP. Now CETIC has successfully bid a REP proposal. Under the auspices of this REP award, Syed Naqvi of CETIC will visit the CYFRONET and AGH University of Science and Technology Krakow (Poland) for two weeks in April/May 2008. He will collaborate with the team of Professor Marian Bubak for the integration of security services in the generic component models for Grid. The results of this activity are planned to be published in the pertinent symposia and journal.

The REP proposals are scrutinised through rigorous evaluation process by a team of CoreGRID Executive Committee. The proposals are selected on the basis of their scientific merits; relevance to the CoreGRID Joint Programme of Activities (JPA); added value for the network; and fair distribution of funding among consortium members.
