Objectives

In the field of railway signaling, new challenges are emerging at 2020 horizon in the context of a digital revolution. Key players have defined ambitious programs to adapt their business model to meet the mobility needs. In particular the extension to new services with high added value. The DIGITRANS project is an exploration of technologies for the development of new solutions enabling infrastructure managers and railway operators to increase the availability of infrastructure and the quality of service to the user.

Results

These activities include the development of a highly distributed ground architecture of connected intelligent objects. It integrates a new concept of remote updating of embedded software and configuration parameters.

Value added

These new developments will accelerate the migration of national systems to the ERTMS interoperable standard. It will secure, or even increase, the market shares accessible to the Walloon rail industry. It will enable CETIC to consolidate its expertise in cybersecurity and optimization of the configuration of systems.
