European Territorial Cooperation is a strategic objective of the European Union’s Cohesion Policy as the objectives of "Convergence" and "Regional competitiveness and employment".
INTERREG programs are implemented under this objective which aims at stimulating a balanced and sustainable economic, social, cultural and ecological development of European territory.
INTERREG programs support cooperation between the various territorial entities and is structured in three parts:
A: Cross-border cooperation
B: Transnational cooperation
C: Interregional cooperation
Currently we are in the fourth programming period called INTERREG IV. It covers the period (2007-2013).
