Under the 2007-2013 programming period of Structural Funds, the European Union and the Walloon Region have joined forces to fund regional development projects under two programmes: the Convergence Objective and the Regional competitiveness and employment. The Convergence Objective focuses on the province of Hainaut. With a budget of 1.5 billion euros, it aims to strengthen Member States and regions by improving conditions for growth and employment.
Among the priorities of this programme, axis 2 is aimed at developing human capital, knowledge, know-how and research projects by funding research centers, universities, high schools for the purchase of equipment, joint research and technological guidance.
In this context, CETIC is participating as leader of the ICT projects portfolio (CEIQS and CELLAVI) and as beneficiary, in projects portfolio SINUS and BioManufacturing.
