Damien Hubaux is Operations Manager at CETIC, responsible for coordination of technology transfer and research activities. He holds a Master degree in engineering, from Ecole Polytechnique de Louvain (UCL 2001), and a MBA ([Vlerick Business Schoolhttp://www.vlerick.com/en/home.html], 2011).
He is particularly interested the innovative use of Information and Communication Technologies in a business context, analysing technology challenges and business value. He is involved in key technology transfer activities with start-ups, SME’s, large accounts, and public authorities. He also takes part to R&D projects specifically related to Cloud Computing, Web and Service Oriented Applications, mainly as regards exploitation and business cases. He initiates European and Regional Collaborative projects with industrial partners.
Damien Hubaux was part of the management team of the very large FP6 IP project BEinGRID, dedicated to the uptake of distributed Information Technologies in the industry. In the RESERVOIR FP7 project, he was managing the training activities about cloud computing. He is involved in several projcts as regards exploitations, and adoption of new technologies : PaaSage,ComodIT and Bonfire. He is managing the CELLaVI project dedicated to the industrial uptake of open source software. He is also involved in cross domains initiatives, especially as regards the adoption of ICT in the building industry.
